Summer Day Camps at B'nai Shalom

Indigo Star and Little Star Day Camps at B’nai Shalom return for another sensational summer of fun and creative learning for pre-school and elementary school children. 

Indigo Star and Little Star Day Camps are secular (non-religious) camps, open by application to children from preschool to rising sixth graders. Children of all backgrounds are invited to take part in our weekly camp sessions. 

Little Star Day Camp hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for campers ages three to five years old (by October 15, 2008).  Camp hours for campers age two (by October 15, 2008) are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Indigo Star Day Camp hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The staff of Indigo Star and Little Star Day Camps consists of experienced teachers and counselors, including B’nai Shalom faculty members. Counselors at both camps ensure that every child is safe, comfortable, involved and positively challenged throughout each day’s activities.  

Housed at B’nai Shalom Day School, near Friendly Shopping Center, Indigo Star and Little Star Day Camps use the school’s state-of-the-art gymnasium, fully equipped art and music rooms, spacious fields and playgrounds.

Indigo Star Camp Weeks

June 23-27:  Beach Camp with Randi Fisher 

Enjoy a week “away” at the beach.  Join us for days filled with leis, smoothies, tie dyeing, water balloon games, and much more.  We will enjoy the weather with water fun and beach arts and crafts.  

July 14-18:  Arts and Crafts Camp with Lisa Lasovsky 

Put your creative skills to work as we spend a week doing arts and crafts. We will explore different artistic media as we make and create cool works of art including beading, painting, paper mache, and even edible art! This week is sure to bring out the artist in anyone!                                  

July 21-25:  Cooking Around the World Camp with Boaz Avraham-Katz 

Learn to prepare dishes from around the world this week.  Each day will focus on a different continent.  Campers will learn skills such as how to shop for food on a budget, how to choose fresh produce, and how to create great meals.  Campers will also design their own cookbooks. 

July 28-August 1:  Sports Camp with Mr. “J”  

Spend the week playing soccer, basketball, hockey, football, and more.  We will learn skills in each sport and run drills to practice.  We will play in team games and create sports crafts.
