Ways to Support BSDS PDF Print E-mail

Share your time, talent and tzedakah with B’nai Shalom and watch your actions create ripples of excitement and wonder for our current students, alumni, faculty and the children in your life.  Choose one of many ways to support B’nai Shalom: send your child or grandchild to the Triad’s Jewish community day school; volunteer your expertise as a guest teacher; help prepare one of our major fundraising events; contribute to the funds that support the mission of our school.  Whichever you choose, your support makes a difference to our students and faculty.

Tzedakah

The B’nai Shalom Annual Fund is lifeblood of our school.  We depend on donations to the annual fund to sustain and enhance the top-quality education offered each day to students from preschool through eighth grade.  Last year, donors helped students enjoy first-rate microscopes, new sports uniforms, laptop computers, field experiences at Timberlake Farm, and other educational enhancements not covered by tuition alone.

When you make a donation to the B’nai Shalom Annual Fund, you demonstrate your commitment to the traditions and innovations that make B’nai Shalom a unique educational experience.  As our alumni attest, learning at B’nai Shalom is not only in the classroom, but also in the extracurricular opportunities, life-changing trips and one-on-one conversations between faculty and students held in the hallways between classes.

Please help us continue to offer Jewish traditions alongside educational innovation and leadership by making a contribution to the Annual Fund today.

Talent

Volunteers are an integral part of the B’nai Shalom community. Many volunteer opportunities are available to parents, grandparents, and friends.

PTC (Parent Teacher Committee)
The PTC arranges for volunteers for a variety of school events such as special ceremonies and holidays, as well as providing support for teachers. The PTC offers opportunities for volunteers to help in the classroom with a multitude of tasks ranging from field trip drivers, cooking, reading to the class, typing and photocopying.

The PTC Holiday Committee
Chairs and volunteers are responsible for all holiday (Jewish and secular) activities at B’nai Shalom. In addition, volunteers organize and distribute pre-ordered challot to the students for Shabbat. Others coordinate our B’nai Shalom Annual Fund drive, Cadillac Dinner, Community Calendar, Picture Day, and special programs with many local vendors.
