Admissions at B'nai Shalom
Welcome to B'nai Shalom Day School, a place in which we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing, supportive school community in which students are able to achieve academic excellence in a dual curriculum that inspires each student to develop his/her fullest potential as an inquisitive learner, critical thinker, and future Jewish leader. We also respect the pace of childhood and provide individualized learning to ensure each child succeeds.
You can begin your journey at B’nai Shalom as young as 8 weeks old and continue until the 8th grade, which culminates with a life-changing class trip to Israel. We offer full day care for children of all ages, including after school hours until 6:00pm. B'nai Shalom provides many flexible options to suit your family’s schedules.
Whether you are exploring educational options for your child or are just curious about who we are and what we do, I welcome you to contact me at any time.

Our in-house screening process consists of grade-level appropriate assessments performed by our Preschool Director (for students entering Kindergarten) or Learning Specialist (for students entering 1st-8th grade). The goal of the screening process is to measure the prospective student's math, reading, writing and language skills as well as social/emotional development, attention and listening skills.
Applicants are invited to spend a day in the classroom of the child's current grade level. By allowing prospective students to spend a day at B'nai Shalom, we are able to determine if the prospective student is a good match for our school and if we are a good match for your child.
A Hebrew language assessment will be performed by a member of our Hebrew and Judaic Studies team after enrollment.
Our Admissions Committee will meet to determine acceptance after the assessment and classroom visit are complete.
B'nai Shalom Day School operates on a rolling admissions schedule. All families will be notified within two weeks of completing the application process.

Affording B'nai Shalom
B’nai Shalom recognizes that the cost of a private school education may create a significant financial challenge for some families. We are committed to making a B’nai Shalom education accessible to as many families as possible. We now offer a program, Indexed Tuition, that helps more families attain an excellent Jewish day school education.
Indexed Tuition is similar to programs used by other private schools. It matches each family’s tuition level to their unique financial situation, thus making a B’nai Shalom education affordable to many qualified students who could not otherwise join our school community.
Tuition Ranges for 2017-18
To help us objectively assess what a family is able to contribute to education expenses, our anonymous Indexed Tuition committee uses figures from FACTS, a trusted third party, as the baseline for our Indexed Tuition determinations. They also take into consideration a written statement from each applicant, as well as school policies and the resources available for returning students as well as applicant families. Families that choose not to apply for their personalized Indexed Tuition pay tuition at the top of the index.Indexed Tuition does not include activity fees, which are $75/child for PS 2/3 through Pre-K, and $95/child for Kindergarten through 8th grade. All financial information you provide will be held in strict confidence.
