Our in-house screening process consists of grade-level appropriate assessments performed by our Preschool Director (for students entering Kindergarten) or Learning Specialist (for students entering 1st-8th grade). The goal of the screening process is to measure the prospective student's math, reading, writing and language skills as well as social/emotional development, attention and listening skills.
Applicants are invited to spend a day in the classroom of the child's current grade level. By allowing prospective students to spend a day at B'nai Shalom, we are able to determine if the prospective student is a good match for our school and if we are a good match for your child.
A Hebrew language assessment will be performed by a member of our Hebrew and Judaic Studies team after enrollment.
Our Admissions Committee will meet to determine acceptance after the assessment and classroom visit are complete.
Once families have completed the admission process, they are eligible to apply for Indexed Tuition. At this time, families would submit all documentation in to FACTS for consideration. Indexed Tuition is a need-based program and will be assessed by a third-party service and anonymous committee.
B'nai Shalom Day School operates on a rolling admissions schedule. All families will be notified within two weeks of completing the application process. At this time, families who applied for indexed tuition will also be notified of tuition award.
