Why do you teach?
I love watching and being a part of a child’s transformation throughout the year. I am truly inspired by my mother, Nancy Lance, Kindergarten Teacher, who has set an incredible example for me.
Why do you teach at B’nai Shalom?
B’nai Shalom provides a positive and inspiring environment for each child to explore his or her learning environment in his or her own way. Having worked at B’nai Shalom for several years, I have had the opportunity to teach many siblings. I love watching them grow up. It is a real privilege to be a part of families’ lives.
What do you want students to get from having known you?
I would like each child to enjoy every moment and to have fun. Every child is special. I hope my students will learn to embrace their unique qualities and become confident individuals.
What is the most important life lesson students will learn in your class?
I encourage my students to develop friendships and I encourage them to learn and play together. My students and I engage in each activity together.

How do you teach to the way a child learns?
I allow each child to engage in activities in which he or she is enthusiastic. By playing with my students, I am helping their young minds grow.
What types of professional development have you completed in the past year?
I attended a local Preschool Teacher Workshop in which teachers from Greensboro got together and shared what works best in classrooms and ideas for improvement.
In what ways do you collaborate with other teachers?
Fortunately, I am surrounded by amazing colleagues. We share ideas, feedback and much more. I am so lucky to be a part of such an incredible group of educators that always put 100% into their students’ education.
