Dani and Ryan Luft
What do you love about B’nai Shalom Day School?
We love and appreciate the supportive environment at B’nai Shalom. The faculty and staff embrace our children as if they were their own, and we know from the stories our children tell us that they feel it, too. The confidence building and friendships they are forming with their peers is priceless — especially in a community like Greensboro.
Why did you choose B’nai Shalom for your children?
Dani is an alumna of the school, and we are active in the Jewish community, so it was the natural thing to do. B’nai Shalom is truly a community school, teaching children to be leaders in the Jewish and greater Greensboro community. It is important to us that they learn Jewish history, Jewish culture, and the Hebrew language, as well as the general studies subjects (math, science, spelling, etc.). We know they are receiving a top notch education in a safe environment.
The B’nai Shalom tagline is For Learning. For Leading. For Jewish Life. How do your children experience this at BSDS and in their everyday lives?
Our children love hands-on learning and thrive in the type of warm environment created at B’nai Shalom. The teachers, and community members who volunteer at the school, are excellent mentors and role models. The school presents opportunities for children to learn about the importance of their own roles in the world. The Judaic Studies and Hebrew components provide a strong foundation for our children to be leaders at school, in synagogue, and in the community. The various holiday celebrations and performances are a great way for our children to express their love for both the spiritual and traditional aspects of our religion.
