B'nai Shalom Day School is excited to announce that Susan Siegel will be  Head of School beginning the 2013-2014 school year. Susan comes to us from the Gross Schechter Day School in Cleveland, OH where she has taught for the last 12 years and is currently the Interim Head of School.  She holds a Master's degree in Education and is a graduate of the Day School Leadership Institute at the Jewish Theological Seminary's Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education. 

As an administrator, Susan has developed general and Judaic studies curricula, managed staffing and development, and provided visionary leadership for students, teachers, staff and parents. She has also developed and implemented Hebrew Dibels assessments for lower school students.  On behalf of the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland, Susan wrote and published a science curriculum connecting Ohio Science Standards to Israel, for Cleveland-area Jewish Day Schools. Her classroom experience includes language arts, social studies, math and science at grade levels 1-6, and she has been recognized with an Outstanding Teacher Award from Gross Schechter Day School.
